23rd May 2008 -
a day I’ll never forget throughout my lifetime. The day of investiture, the day we let go of our duties and such. The 22nd student council has been my family. All the times we spent together, planning the events, having fun – the two orientations, teachers’ day, the prom planning and even the trivial stuffs such as the morning duty. It is indeed true, what Eugene said during his speech –
you make new friends, for they will be your family, aside from your family at home. The time spent together, were
meaningful, wonderful and memorable. We have gone through thick and thin together, I feel a part of them. It was teary when they started giving out the notes. Even Mr Goh came back for the investiture and gave each of us a card. We spent our last time in the council room, talking. It made me sad, knowing that it was to be our last time we’ll all be sitting together like that. I tried hard not to tear up, but then it just fell when I saw the others crying. We girls had a group hug when some guys came behind us and started throwing flour, starting a series of sabotage, including water and flour. It was fun and the whole council board was screaming and running away. I’ll never forget this day. Wanted to join the council to eat at Toa Payoh/amk but we had already told Ruzaini that we would eat with them, and so we went to Sakura at NP instead. I found out that Hafiz was from my primary school (!!!) Oh gosh, in the next class and I’ve been so oblivious though we were from the same econs class last year. So yeah, plus there was one of the guests from another school who came up to me and introduced himself as one of my primary school schoolmates. I was so embarrassed that I could not even recognize him although he could tell it was me. Was asking Hafiz and even he could remember that guy. Hmm, I guess I’ll have to look through the old primary school pictures then. Speaking of pictures, we took tones of pictures. Just downloaded them to the computer and I realized we took more than 100, in just a short span of a few hours. Yupyup, I remember dragging Madhiah ,the photographer J, around at the reception area and taking pictures with all the people I see. So yeah, shall upload some of them here, for the SC people who do come here, to get them.
The last day of wearing the blazer, badge etc
I LOVE Council =))
I’m feeling,
HAPPY =))
And I shall stop at that :)
I really can’t wait for a break!! OMG. Its like, school days are so draggy. Ahh. And today for some unfathomable reason, felt super sleepy and fell asleep in Malay and econ lecture. (!!!) I want break. I want break. I want no school =(
The pressure is starting to show.
Rehearsals for invest. will take up much of my Tuesdays and Thursday. No more going home early =( Never mind, 15 more days then I’m free!
And, something reasonably unexpected happened =))
Ohh, tomorrow’s the last day I’m doing duty. Whee. To tell the truth, I preferred last year *shrugs*
If I start screaming in the middle of something, kindly do not give me the look
I won’t be surprised if I grow horizontally anytime soon, given the rate that I’m stuffing stuffs into the mouth. Argh!

The Slow Down Poem (remedy for BUSY)
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain
lapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away...
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

I just feel like running along with the wind pushing me along, pulling my hair and screaming at the top of my lungs. I don’t care if I lose my voice like a few weeks back. I just need to get the load of my shoulders. I just need someone to be there with me pulling me through
